The Florence County Historical Society
The Florence County Historical Society was founded in 1980 following the Town of Florence and the County’s Centennial Celebration. This dedicated committee became the founders of the Historical Society. Today these people, along with subsequent members, have been active in educational outreach, research, a historical resource for the community, and operating a museum to display the history of our county’s eight townships.
The Florence County Historical Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization funded primarily through membership dues and donations from individuals. We receive no governmental support. Gifts to the Society are tax deductible as allowed by law. New members are always welcome. Money and in-kind donations are always appreciated!
